The eight bytes

Why a byte, why eight parts, and what each one actually means for your week.

Why a byte?

In computing, a byte is a small unit of information. On its own it holds very little. Put the right ones together and you can store a word, a picture, a whole story.

Health works the same way. A diet on its own is one byte. A meditation app is one byte. A step count is one byte. Most people have been handed one byte at a time and told it's the whole answer. It isn't, and that's why it never held. Put all eight together and you get the perfect byte.

The spelling is deliberate. "Bite" would have been about food alone. "Byte" says the technology — the tracking, the data, the science that reads it — is part of the plan, not a gimmick on the side.

How the bytes switch on

We don't turn everything on at once. That's the mistake of every January. Your program starts with the one or two bytes that will make the biggest difference fastest — often sleep and nutrition — and adds the rest as those hold.

For many people the hormones byte is on from day one, because hormones affect every other byte, whether you are 15, 45 or 70. Ignoring them is why so many good plans stop working.

By the end, all eight are on and you know how to keep them there without me.

Byte by byte

Most wellness advice hands you one piece and calls it a plan. A byte only works when every byte is switched on, so each of these gets attention in your program.

1

Nutrition

Food that fits your body, your schedule and your hormones — not a generic meal plan printed for everyone.

2

Science

Every recommendation traces back to current research. When the evidence is thin, I say so.

3

Technology

Wearables, sleep and cycle tracking, and simple apps turn "how do I feel?" into data we can act on.

4

Mindfulness

Short, practical practices that lower stress hormones and make the rest of the plan easier to keep.

5

Mind

The habits and beliefs that decide whether change sticks. We rewrite the ones working against you.

6

Body

Movement, strength and recovery matched to your energy — especially as it shifts through midlife.

7

Soul

Purpose, rest and connection. The part that makes a healthy life feel worth living.

8

Hormones & life stages

From growing kids to midlife changes for women and men to healthy aging. Every stage gets a plan built for it.
